Condor Moonshiner Knife
The blade is made from German 1075 High Carbon Steel and are heat treated and annealed to about 56-58 Rockwell hardness. The edge is hand finished and polished to razor sharpness. The hardwood handles are made from hard woods of Central America, similar to Hickory. It is finished with a smooth grip and is known for its long durability. Big, Sharp and Extremely Durable

This one is an absolute beauty! The blade has some serious heft. I can't imagine being able to damage it without industrial equipment. The edge is on the softer side in terms of its Rockwell hardness, but this, combined with its convex grind actually makes it much more durable and easier to sharpen with limited equipment. I can easily see this knife outlasting me. It is 1075 high carbon steel which means a little love and care is necessary.
I would recommend anyone who buys this knife to get some food-grade oil to rub it down with, (I've used mineral oil) and consider getting a strop kit.
A lot of people seem to complain about condor knives not being razor sharp out of the box, but the one I got was sharp enough to shave with (I checked).
As far as design goes, it depends on what you like, the handle feels a little on the large side, but it doesn't feel bad or clunky, it just takes a little bit of getting used to. The same very much goes for the convex grind. For gripping, I've found choking up with my thumb on the shoulder of the handle works really well for me. It makes a very solid compromise between a machete and a regular belt knife.
The sheath is extremely high-quality leather and the knife sits beautifully in it. It feels like it has basically no chance of falling out by accident, I'll be interested to see if this stays true as the leather softens and stretches with age. The swivel is durable and practical, but it does flap around a little bit if you're running and it doesn't have much by way of options to secure it to the leg.
I liked it so much I immediately went out and ordered another knife by Condor.
I got express shipping and it arrived the day after I ordered it. Which, during COVID19 times, I found very impressive.
